As a first-time cruiser (late 20s), the Edge was a wonderful introduction to the cruising world! I read a TON of reviews before going on my trip, and I disagree with most of them.
As others have said, the embarkation was a breeze. We showed up several hours earlier than our scheduled time and were on the ship in no time -- it took maybe 10 minutes to get from our shuttle bus to the embarkation ramp.
The ship itself is gorgeous. I was in an infinite veranda suite on the 9th floor and it had an unobstructed view. The room attendants were wonderful and attentive, though they were inconsistent on when they came to service the room (twice a day) and we often had to either ask them to come back or leave the room for a bit so they could do their jobs. Wonderful service and we had chocolates on our pillows every night! The elevators were typically pretty timely. I LOVED that the ship gave out aluminum, refillable water bottles and used paper straws in place of plastic. I saw recycling bins throughout the ship, which was great.
The room was beautiful and I loved the infinite veranda. It was great to have the IV down in the evening and listen to the ocean as we fell asleep. The mirrors in the room did fog up due to humidity if the IV was down too long, but that's to be expected. I thought the IV was great!
Our stingray swim ended up being canceled due to inclement weather, but Celebrity was very quick to issue refunds (within 24 hours of the cancellation) and we were able to independently explore Grand Cayman.
