This was our 5th cruise with these ports, and our 8th cruise on the Grand. With 2020 already booked. We have read other reviews about how old the ship is and problems they encounter but this was our 1st cruise where those negative aspects effected our cruise. We opted for a minisuite, we normally get a balcony on 10. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy our Mini suite as much as we hoped. What with construction going on at 9 am, that is sawing and hammering, there was a sound that sounded like a blender that would go off for about 20-30 seconds every 8-10 hours including at 1 am. On the last sea day our toliet started overflowing, luckily with clean water, but water was gushing out of the toliet and DH had to bale water with the garbage can for half an hour to keep our room from flooding. We then had a fan going on for 5 hour to dry out the carpet. He used every towel to soak up the water, but it still went cascading over the step.

Now we did try Sabatini's for the first time and loved it. The food in the buffet seemed to have improved from our Nov. cruise. The only change we would make is that they served lobster on casual nights and not only on formal.

We did notice that there seemed to be more buckets for leaks than normal, and I hope during dry dock the replace the furniture in the public areas. Some of the seats were so worn and dirty you didn't want to sit on them.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MD

Noisy room with construction and some kind of loud blender noise that lasted for 30 seconds every 8-10 hours. Stained carpet and the sofa was very worn and dirty. The balcony furniture was really sad. TV in bad location. I got a stiff neck trying to watch because of the position to the far left of the bed. I wouldn't sit on the sofa because it was too dirty, so the only place to watch was from the bed. Yes I know you don't go on a cruise to watch tv, but we like to watch before sleeping.
