We don't have a must-book-with cruise company. We book cruises after looking at prices and flight schedules, and haven't cruised with carnival in 2 years and could tell differences. No tablecloths in formal dining room, not enough waiters and bartenders in pool areas and casinos, servers in dining room didn't seem to care if they served us or not. What happened to the captains cocktail party? A person used to just attempt to set a glass down and someone would be right there, swooping up your empty and bringing you a full one if you wanted it. The ship was dirty and looked like it could use a good power washing in all common areas. Our room was clean and our room steward was great. We did have water dripping from the ceiling one night from a broken beverage station pipe above us on the lido deck. It was temporarily fixed that night, but plumbers were in our room for 3 hours the next day permanently fixing it. Carnival gave us a free meal from the steakhouse, which we had to eat in the regular dining room and not the actual steakhouse. Food was average. Fellow cruisers told us that they had been on the ship on its first sailing, almost 20 years ago, so it's older and showing it.

Cabin 4H

We booked an interior cabin, no idea what category it was. It had plenty of room for what we needed it for.
