We chose this cruise length and destinations to avoid Spring Break crowds and see new destinations. We were two couples mid 70's and mid 60's. We chose Norwegian because of their easier dinner dress rules and we chose the Jade because of its medium size. One of us was having trouble walking without a cane before the cruise, so we rented a wheel chair just in case.
We used NCL wheel chair assistance in boarding and disembarkation...both went very well and were very helpful. We got to the port at about 11:30 and it was not very crowded and the process for others seemed to go well. With wheelchair assistance, we breezed right through to the pre-boarding waiting area.
We did not pre-book any excursions and stayed on the ship in San Juan and Barbados. We took the wheel chair on two locally-arranged mini van excursions without a problem.
Just like all the NCL insides on this class of ship. We booked the "sail away" price and NCL gave us a great location, midship just a few cabins away from the midship elevator. This was very helpful for us since we often used the wheelchair (NCL did not know about the wheelchair when we booked)
