My husband and I just finished the Footsteps in Time itinerary on the Evolution, and we could not be happier. The ship is lovely; it's modern and super clean, but it has a very classic look which sets it apart a bit from most of the others we saw. The crew was very friendly and helpful, the service was fantastic, and the food was amazing; we're not really 'cruise people' so maybe we should've expected all of this? But we were thinking it was going to be a much more casual thing, which is what we generally expect from ecotours. We were very pleasantly surprised by everything.

Our guides, Rafael and Samuel, were very knowledgeable and dedicated to showing us all of the animals (after one snorkel trip failed to turn up the hoped-for hammerhead sharks, they scheduled an extra one for the following morning, which did have them.) They were patient and gave everyone plenty of time and opportunity for photos, including those they took themselves and sent to us at the end of the trip.

Our cabin was at the front end of D-deck, just behind the anchors; although we did wake every time they were raised or lowered, the process didn't take long, and the trade-off was that we were the furthest from any engine noise. Earplugs were provided, and being low in the boat kept the rolling from being too noticeable. The cabin and bathroom were cleaned every time we were out of the room (something like 4 times a day) so everything was always spotless.
