We wanted an early spring cruise to visit the Canaries where we have been several times before. Been on Ventura the sister ship but Azura is not the same level of ship. Water damage to buffet ceiling tiles, which were not replaced with new, just replaced. The tiles were disgusting. In the buffet area we noted large holes in the carpet under the chairs. Carpet in corridors deck 8 needed stretching as it was all over the place and a trip hazard. Buffet cutlery, glasses, plates were dirty on a regular basis, need to look at the dishwashers. Mentioned to staff, not interested. We inspected all utensils after that to find clean items discarding three forks one lunch time. The Oriental Restaurant also had water damage to walls and ceiling. The menu seemed to be a quiz every evening, nothing was what it seemed by the description. seemed to be pot luck as to whether we could eat the food or not. The best thing about the cruise was Steve King talking about 60s music. We booked for both lunch and evening at Sindhu when they were doing special prices. The evening one was only a few pounds more and much better value. We have a cruise booked to the Med on Britannia in September hoping for a better standard, it should be it is costing enough! We have also booked in Iona for Fjords in May next year. We are really trying to support P&O but come on guys get your act together otherwise you will lose our future custom.

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom (Part Obstructed View)

Not too bad, looking very tired,TV very small and badly sited over the tea making facility. Satellite did not work for days. the only channel seemed to be BBC news. Work was carried out in the corridor outside our cabin with ceiling panels removed for days. Other work left our cabin without water for most of one day. Lots of metal screeching sounds early in the morning, we assumed from a lifeboat but 5am! Broken nights sleep nearly every night due to this noise. Never found out what it was. Good thing we had lots of hot water for showers.
