This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise and we ended up on Enchantment because it was the second cruise as part o a travel package that we purchased through our travel agency. I have never been on any of the bigger ships before, so my review is not based on comparison to those types of ships. I've done one Carnival cruise (Sensation) and then this one on Enchantment. My initial thoughts were that for being one of the older RC ships, it was still nice, I looked like there were a lot of renovations done on some of the interiors and the staterooms.
We thought the food great on the ship as well, especially in the Windjammer and the main dining. We did not pay for any of the specialty dinings because I didn't really think it was worth it. The quality of the food in the main dining was excellent and there was even an option to purchase a steak or surf and turf meal in the main dining.
We purchased the drink package, and while I thought it was worth it based on the volume of drinks that we had each day (about 5-6 per person, not even including the sodas and the bottled water that we had as well). My only complaint about the drinks on this ship was the beer selection and the quality of some of the mixed drinks. I didn't find much in the way of draft beer on this cruise (I don't think I found any actually) and there was no craft beer whatsoever. Some of the bars such as the Schooner and Boleros has a decent selection of international beers such as Red Stripe, Guinness Stella and a couple of German beers though. Most of the time, when we ordered a drink of the day, it tasted watered down. I think this is because most of them were pre-mixed but depending on the bartender, some of them made the drinks fresh which ended up being a much better cocktail. There was a bloody mary bar on both sea days, so we took full advantage of that as well. All in all, the drink package was worth it just depends on what type of beverages you prefer.
This was my wife and I traveling so we just got a standard oceanview room with a king size bed. The room was a decent enough size and we were on deck 3, so we felt like the noise level was low as well.
Was not impressed with this location. We did not book an excursion, just wanted to hang out at the beach but the town itself just seemed run down and there was not much to do.
Happening port, there were about 4 other ships docked there on the day we arrived. Plenty of things to do within the immediate location once you are off the ship. Had a great lunch at Senor Frog, did some shopping and hung out in the water right within view of the ships.
