Family cruise to a new area. The Adventure of the Seas is a well-run ship, and we experienced no troubling issues as we have on other RCI ships. We were pleased.

The Adventure of the Seas staff had a Salute to Veterans on last sailing day which was a memorable, moving meeting of about 40-50 veterans of all military branches and ranks. Many wore identifying hats of their ships or branch of service. I was able to meet several former submariners and that made the celebration special to me. Go Navy!

St. John, New Brunswick, on the Bay of Fundy was okay, but Bar Harbor and Peggy's Cove near Halifax were interesting and scenic. Would recommend tours in these ports. We thought that having two days in Halifax and skipping St. John would be preferable, but then there would only be two ports-of-call on a six-night cruise. Sailing days were limited basically to two full days, which did not really provide a lot of down time, and three days of ports-of-call back-to-back was a bit tiring to the "older" cruiser.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 4D

Standard balcony cabin. Good views, no obstructions. A bit far forward when going back and forth to Windjammer and Sapphire dining room.

Otherwise, no surprises.

Port Reviews

Saint John (New Brunswick)

Walked from cruise ship to St. John Museum. Extremely dark inside the exhibition rooms and very difficult to read REALLY small print on information cards inside glass-enclosed exhibits. Was advised that new LED lighting was planned to improve exhibition visibility. Cost was $6.00 per visitor. Numerous shops and restaurants along street heading back to ship.
