Waiters farewell on the last night.

This was my husbands first cruise and my 3rd. He was a reluctant cruiser so we choose this Greece-Croatia Mediterranean cruise as it had many port stops and was only 7 nights. Turns out he loved it.

We chose a balcony cabin which gave us many opportunities to view the beautiful ports as we came and left. Breakfast became a must on our balcony as we soon found we did not enjoy Windjammers selections for breakfast, lunch or dinner. In saying that we used Windjammers for snacking-taking fresh fruit, cereal, milk, yoghurt and cheese back to the room.

We tried izumis-Japanese-nice, Chops-good steaks and Giovannis-italian all were quite tasty.

Spacious Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 3B

I was surprised at how large it was. There were enough spaces for all our belongings. The bathroom is tiny but functional. Water pressure-not too bad.

The bed was surprisingly comfortable- we slept well on the ship.

Sofa was comfy, didn't use it much but it as nice to have.

The artwork is atrocious-very dated and the style of the decorative finishes definitely needs an update but the room was comfy and clean. (Thankyou Oscar)

Port Reviews

Katakolon (Olympia)

We loved it. Got off at port-turned right and just browsed the shops. We had a recommendation to shop at Christos Jewellery store (as I was after a certain piece). The hospitality was warm and welcoming (drinks provided). The jewellery was handmade, great quality and backed by the ships guarantee as well, and yes you can negotiate the pricing- intact white a it. Janis (the owners son) gifted us presents and also shouted us lunch and drinks at his cousins restaurant Porto. This was unexpected and completely fabulous-pure greek hospitality. We then walked down and hopped on a little"train" for 6 euro each and explored a little further -it takes you down to a beach where you can hop off if you wish and catch the later train cart back.. All in all a fabulous day, stunning weather and way better experience than Santorini.

Dubrovnik

We hired a brand new scooter from Modena scooter hire and toured the Old city and surroundings on our own. Best day.

The scooter was reliable but not high powered so we stayed away from the steep hills as I was riding pillion with my husband.

We ate lunch at Bon apetite- the pizza and wine was good.

We drank coffees on the house at the Modena night bar where we hired the scooter.

All in all a great day away from the maddening crowd. Tip- get in early to the old city before the millions of other people do.
