This was my 15th cruise and my third with Princess. The quality has definitely declined since the merger. We we first ordered to surrender our passports!?! Before boarding the ship. I can’t believe Princess would send passengers into a foreign country on the excursions after taking their passports and refusing to give them back! Princess stated that was a rule of the embarkation group who are not affiliated with the company!? They are dealing with every single customer of yours and handing over all the passports to ship personnel who refuse to return them. Some passports were misplaced (horrifying experience when trying to return back to your country)!

There were only two employees to handle all the shore excusion activity when we docked at each port The boat had a mechanical failure which forced the captain to cancel a port altogether and wait for 8 hours outside Dublin for high tide. This has happened on other boats from time to time, but there we’re “projects” a crew member was attempting to fix all around the boat. The engine, the elevator(people did get stuck), numerous flooring issues taped off, room attendant carts constantly parked in hallways, etc. This went far beyond the routine “wet paint” areas you normally see. The dining staff we always in a frantic rush due to lack of enough staff. Mistakes were very common. The employees genuinely wanted to give excellent service, but were overwhelmed.

The menu was disappointing. Each night came with an insert menu listing better dishes for an additional $20 per person. This cheapened the original menu items and made a family of 6 pay and additional $120 a night if the wanted to try an excellent dish! Unbelievable! Read more
