We had been recommended the ports on a British Isles Cruise from a friend. We found the ports on a Princess cruise. We had cruised Princess several times before and were expecting a level of quality in the ship and staff that unfortunately we did not receive on this cruise. The Crown Princess seems to be a tired ship with a tired staff and crew. They seem more interested in selling you extras than providing the experience a Princess Cruise has been known for.

The food was excellent. The desserts were consistently good.

The entertainment was below par; the sound system made everything worse- tinny with excessive reverb on every musician and singer.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BF

We enjoyed the extra closet space, the adequate hanger supply and the comfortable bedding. This cabin is the first on its level with a balcony (aft) and so there is more noise while on the balcony but it wasn't a problem. The shower is small, but adequate. The whole ship seems tired.

Port Reviews

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Rode the public bus around the island. This island is not equipped to handle two cruise ships in one day. The bus was loaded with cruise passengers and you couldn't see out the windows as a result. Quaint island but not a good port for a large cruise ship.

Cobh (Cork)

We used an outside excursion (Paddywagon). We saw Blarney Castle, the woolen mills and Kinsale but we were not in port long enough to see much of Cork. I would recommend Paddywagon.

Dublin

Great experience, well worth the small price. Three pubs with 2 musicians leading the way and sharing their music with us. A GREAT time.

Greenock (Glasgow)

Used hop on hop off bus. Had a good time but was not in port long enough to experience very much because we had to take the train on a round trip from Greenock.

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

We used the hop on hop off bus and stopped at places we wished to see. It is a wonderful city.
