We choose this cruise because of the itinerary out of Venice. The ports were wonderful. The staff on the Rhapsody was excellent. However of all the cruises I have taken with RC, this ship rated poorly. The ship had worn out fabric on the chairs in the common areas, stains on ceiling in the women’s rest rooms, worn out furniture in our cabin, rust spots out our cabin window. The solarium was the worst. It consisted of plastic leaning topiary plants that were old and flaking mix with a semi Egyptian theme. It was bare looking and had an identity crisis. This was unlike the other solariums on other ships. They told us the ship was due for updating 11/20, but it needed to be updated now! Other passengers felt the same way. The RC singer & dancers were good, but not great. They had formula dancing. They were mainly all white singers & dancers. In an attempt to sing & dance to a show featuring famous soul singers, they failed.

It was a 2 hour wait for the cable car to get down from the top in Santorini. This was a nightmare for many, the alternative was a 583 walk down steep, steps shared with donkeys. Several people from another ship sustained injuries.

All other cruises with RC I have had a great experience with the ships I have been on. RC needs to take their worn out ships out of service and update them. The best thing about this cruise were the ports, except Santorini which was too crowded & there were only 4 cruise ships in that day.
