Sail Date: Apr 2010
Cabin:

Just got off the Star, have sailed 18 times and thought this ship fell a little below princess' normal standards. More on that coming up.

Arrived in ft lauderdale on the 9Th. stayed at the holiday inn express and suites . good hotel with a great pool and shuttle to airport and cruise terminal. right across the street is a shopping mall with food and grocery store. Also 1/2 block away is Old Heidelberg German restaurant and it has great food .

Took shuttle to port arrived around noonish. walked right through no hassles in fact took longer to fill out med form than to check in lol. had 8 people 4 cabins and one in a wheel chair and still no problems.

St. Maarten

Love st maarten... went to the firehouse bar on the boardwalk and dropped off some patches from our department and then had a few drinks with the family and then off to orient beach... after that went back to the boardwalk and the beach... cleanest place in the caribbean

St. Thomas

We rented a private yacht from Yacht Adventure . com and we sailed out to buck island and turtle cove and snorkeled open bar on the yacht with just the 6 of us was great... when we reached the reef there was a tour excursion catamaran there with about 8o people... while they were getting the safety briefing we were in the water for almost 45 minutes. plus we had our own reef guided tour by the mate on the yacht.... ships shore excursion...89.00 private 47 foot sailing yacht with an open bar and private guided tour 75.00 you do the math

Grand Turk

Luckily I have been to Grand Turk before but we had a few people who had never been there and were disappointed they did not get to see it... Apparently it was to windy for us to make dock... however many of the crew who we had befriended told us that this captain was called capt windy and has a reputation for missing ports(good to know for future cruises) may be it had something to do with damaging the ship the week before while docking at grand Turk? hmmmmm Although we missed this port the captain did turn us to the south and we had a beautiful day of sunshine to spend by the pool.
