We just returned from a one week cruise on the Viking Atla. The cruise and destinations are beautiful and interesting; however I want to talk more about the ship and the staff.

The ship was built in 2013 and is beginning to show its age; however it is meticulously maintained. We have done river cruises with other companies and we found the layout of the Viking longships to be the best we have experienced. We particularly liked the rooftop and the Aquavit Terrace as they were perfect for cruising down the river,

Despite varying water levels on the Danube, the captain and his crew managed to sail from Budapest to Nurembreg with only minor schedule changes. Michael, the program director, worked with the captain and cruise staff to minimize interruptions and to keep us informed. His cruise staff kept everything in order and the shore side guides were excellent.

Deluxe Stateroom

Cabin E

We don't spend much time in our room so the standard cabin more than met our needs.
