We took the land part of the cruise first and then rode the train to Whittier where we boarded the ship. The medallion use on the ship was so easy to set up and use. It was so nice not to have a key to board or to open your stateroom door. Embarking and disembarking was easy with the medallion. The ship is huge. It is easy to get lost but the crew is very helpful if that should happen. The cruise director on land (Debbie Whelan) was terrific. She was witty and informative and kept you up to date on to your next move etc. The lodges in the Denali National Park were wonderful as were all staff members and tour people. Couldn't ask for better. The train ride to Whittier was great. Conductor and crew were very informative and funny. Kept the 8 hour ride very enjoyable. Having the medallion made it easy to board the ship upon arrival and at each stop that it made. The different tours to take were a little expensive. The few tours we took were worth it. We did not do the $200 or over tours, that is up to each individual to decide on. The rooms on land and on the sea were great. Very comfortable beds and pillows and the rooms were kept clean and comfortable. We had a mini suite which was worth the price. The room was spacious enough to move around. The food on the ship was excellent whether you ate in the dining rooms or the buffet tables on Lideo deck 16. The entertainment was excellent. The comedians were terrific as was the crew entertainers that sang and danced. All in all, this trip was amazing.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MC

Our cabin was midship and had a balcony and hide a way bed in couch. It was very comfortable and clean. We had an excellent view from our balcony. Loved this room. It had a curtain to shut off bed from couch area and had two TV's, one near couch and one in bedroom. Room was kept clean and comfortable. The cruise we took was to Alaska in July and we took the land tour first and cruise second.
