We found this cruise to be an excellent bargain. We were able to get a Jr. Suite in the back of the ship for UNDER 2k per person.
CABINS: Rhapsody is NOT R.C.'s newest boat, and it shows. However, those criticizing the ship failed to mention the efforts made to keep it clean as a whistle. THAT showed more than its age, in my opinion. We were actually very impressed and pleased with our cabin. Yes, it was old and needs a re-vamping, but it was clean, spacious, and the beds were SO comfy. The only reason there's not five stars from me was due to the strange "warm water" we had that never wanted to get cold. Jose, our steward was warm and personable. Our balcony was HUGE! I could have cartwheeled across it!!! All six members of our party loved the balconies and we spent plenty of time out on them, too.
DINING: We bought three visits to specialty restaurants. I was disappointed in the lack of explanation prior to boarding that we were given, regarding the main dining room, however. We had trouble getting into it on the last three days of the cruise. Whether or not reservations were required prior to boarding was confusing. CHOPS and GIOVANNI'S TABLE were the two specialty restaurants we dined at. I was disappointed in CHOPS. The second night we went, the crab cake was granular in texture and NOT up to the same quality as the first night of the cruise, which had been our first visit. The meat/preparation was "okay", but definitely lacked the superior service/quality of Celebrity, which we've cruised on before. EDELWEISS, the main dining room, was quite good and the shrimp cocktail shrimp were HUGE! Really enjoyed that appetizer. R.C. also makes mean apple pie!
