This cruise the Duro with Viking was not cheap we had a 4 day extention with accommodation at the Tivoli hotel so we explored Lisbon .That was very good and to be recommended however the cruise itself whilst enjoyable is not worth £7000 for 2 people whilst the staff and organisation are brilliant we seemed to be on coaches for what seemed to be as much time as we were cruising .This was a disappointment as the scenery on the river was spectacular. Example in Porto we had an included excursion we boarded a bus and traveled less than 2 miles into the city to a mediocre church then a train station with remarkable tiles and then to the underground metro to look at mire tiles which were not spectacular. After these less than gripping tour we had free time before boarding this typified the whole cruise. We had no time to relax after our excursions as it was time for cruise updates then dinner the only decent time we had cruising was on the return journey I belive that for us this was not good value and whilst we had a good time because of the staff and our fellow passenger's I can state that there were some on this cruise who had done more than one cruise with Viking and they also be lived that this one was not good value. So Viking you really need to rethink the itinerary on this cruise and the stupid cost of the optional excursions I mean come on £140 for port tasting

We will not be travelling with Viking again sorry.
