Regal Princess Review

Really good itinerary, could easily extend it to 2 full weeks though.

Chose to get on it Germany because there is way too much to see in Berlin and port is 2+ hours away. Flew in several days before cruise departure so we could tour Berlin first. Highly recommend a Hop-On-Hop-Off 48 hour pass. Tour of nearby Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp is very affordable when purchased directly (just $25) and not as a Princess excursion. Took a cab back to Tegel Airport to get a Princess Transfer (bus) as it would take almost twice as long to get to port from Berlin by train on our own.

Have been on the Regal Princess before, in the Caribbean, good ship with good amenities. First stop for us was Norway. Did the Oslo Without Lunch excursion and the guide Arlene was fantastic. Our guide in Denmark was not as good but really enjoyed seeing the palace and Tivoli Gardens.

Next was Sweden where we docked in Nynashamn. We thoroughly enjoyed the RIB adventure but were disappointed it wasn’t combinable with any tours to Stockholm which is 45 minutes away from Nynashamn. Taxis in Sweden are not regulated so negotiate your fare first! There are only two highway routes to Stockholm (the other one takes over an hour) so if there’s an accident or traffic delays, you could run into trouble getting back to the ship so we opted to stay in Nynashamn. Disappointed that Princess didn’t organize a shuttle service given how far away the port is from Stockholm.

Helsinki

Loved the dogsled ride and enjoyed the berry infused vodka. Shame you cant buy it!

St. Petersburg

Toured Hermitage museum and then had lots of time to shop and grab lunch.

St. Petersburg

Fantastic! Checked off the bucket list. See general comments for more info.

Tallinn

Fell in love with the town. Only 20 minute walk from port but guide was invaluable as she showed us how to navigate the town and pointed out some great shops. See general comments.
