We booked on this cruise long before the news of Oriana's sale broke, because Svalbard was on the destination list.
The cruise itself was blessed with good weather for nearly all of the port days and even some sea days, and the sea was calm throughout. We had some foggy days which kept the ship's siren busy, but otherwise the cruise went very well.
The Oriana offers large amounts of deck space and it was very sad to disembark her at Southampton for the final time on the 9th August.
Standard 'outside twin with window', very comfortable and well-appointed.
We took the Port Shuttle into Belfast and the the 'G2' local bus (just over £4 each for an all-day rover ticket) to the Titanic Experience. Well worth a visit - but get there early on busy days!
We went ashore independently here
We took a ship's excursion to Gjesvaer for a bird-watching boat trip, which was superb and delivered everything it was supposed to.
