First ... a shout out to our wonderful “included” tour guides. We especially enjoyed Sylvia Seifert whose extended tour in Regensburg (including Jewish history and the Stumbling Stones Project) was spectacular. Another terrific guide -whom we were with today in Cologne- was Ralph (sorry no last name). His knowledge of history was extensive. In a very brief period we learned so very much. Finally and sadly (sorry!!!) we cannot recall the name of our Wertheim guide, another terrific individual (woman in her 60s) who brought her home town to life -past and present. For example she told us that her husband was 5 years old when US tanks rolled through town at the end of WW2:

an image he has never forgotten.

She shared a great deal of her own life experience as well as history and both helped us get a true flavor for her river town.

Lovely. The double glass door made the room bright and beautiful. It is a small room but we had absolutely everything we needed. The room was always pristine ie cleaned twice a day.

I also want to celebrate the entire staff. Everyone was amazing from our Program Director David Parker to Joseph who took of our room, to Dado and Ivan (2 Ivans actually), Ria, the restaurant manager and on and on.
