This was our second cruise on Discovery 2 and we rebooted the cabins we had last year.
6533 an inside cabin for our teenage boys. It's a really good inside cabin. Lots of storage and a small sofa in the room as well.
6534 balcony cabin again good size for two of us. Both kept tidy by our cabin steward. Deck 6 is a good position on the ship between the coffee port and the front stair cases and lifts.
Cabin Review
Had 6534 &6533 opposite each other. Both well looked after. Inside had better storage. Steward was very good.
Port Reviews
Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)
Arrived early and on a two week cruise we had all day to wander. Have stayed on the island many times but never looked around Palma.
Must see Cathedral ...the Palace and the old town.
Corsica (Ajaccio)
We love Corsica. Ajaccio is easy on the feet. We did the HoHo bus trip well worth doing. If you arrive in port on a Monday however the main draw of Napoleons birth place is closed.
Barcelona
Another port that's easy to visit on you own. We got a taxi to Sa Grada Familia. €18 for the four of us. I had pre booked our tickets online with audio guide. If travelling with school age children take a copy of passport or if older a student card and you'll get discounts in a few places here. Visit the maritime museum right near the port. Lovely morning spent here.
Porto Torres
Not much to see here....book an excursion and look further afield. Shuttle bus was free.
Salerno
Stopping point for Amalfi coast and Pompeii.
Booked tour to Herculaneum and Pompeii. Would not book through Marella. Tour of Cameo factory before we'd even left Salerno. Felt bulldozed in the restaurant for lunch by tour guide. Waiter huffed as we paid by card.......but we did have cash for €64 lunch. He gave no info or showed us road to follow into town.
