We chose this cruise because our friends were going. The itinerary was through the British Isles. I really liked Norway and many of the stops in Scotland were nice. Britain and Ireland were great as well. Could’ve used one or two less stops in Scotland as many were simply fishing villages on a little island. Would rather have stayed in one of the cities such as Edinburgh longer. Some of the included tours got to be a bit dull as all we did was ride around on a bus and things were pointed out to us. Would’ve liked to have covered less distance and done more walking. The service and the food was outstanding. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. Could maybe have used a little more activity at night. The booking of excursions was somewhat annoying as each level of cabin got to book their excursions on different days so the day we were able to book our excursions was crazy and hard to get online. Would like to have had more options for tours. Perhaps a few more active ones. Overall I would definitely do another Viking tour.

Port Reviews

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Ok just a bus ride. They drove you all around and narrated. More info than you will ever remember.

Kirkwall

Cute town

Belfast

Goal was very interesting. Our tour guide was excellent. Titanic museum is also very interesting as it was about how the ship was constructed

Lerwick (Shetland Islands)

Small fishing island but the Shetland ponies were cute

Holyhead

Ok. Cute touristy town with some old churches

Dublin

Basic bus city tour

Bergen

Interesting. Small little restored town from 17 or 1800s

Dover

Cute touristy town with shops and an old church

Invergordon (Inverness)

Cute town with shops and some old churches and buildings

Liverpool

Loved the Beatles museum. Visited Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. The childhood homes of the Beatles were pointed out to us. Great tour!

Liverpool

Visited the alley where the Cavern nightclub is.

The restaurants and specialty restaurants on board were excellent. The food and the service was great. The waitstaff and the cabin staff were very attentive to each person's needs. I loved the fact that you could get a good seat at the shows and not have to fight big crowds. The pools were never crowded. It was nice to be able to use spa facilities and not have to pay extra. Also if you do have an extra spa service they don't seem to push their products on you as they do on other cruise lines.
