I wanted to visit Greenland and since the ship was going right out of NYC near where I live, I thought it was an easy choice.

I'd gotten an upgrade from obstructed to unobstructed view but they'd forgotten to mention that it was right above the forward gangplank so whenever we got to a port, we were woken very early. :(

The ship was well maintained and comfortable. However, I have a number of complaints. 1) The food was only okay (even the specialty restaurant we tried was okay) and I think Princess needs to work on making the food more flavorful and their steaks less tough.

Cabin OF

Cabin was fine except it was right over the front gangway so we were waken up very early in each port.

Port Reviews

Halifax

Lovely place. It was full of tourists, though, but still pretty.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

Really loved the drive out to the Village and the people working there were sooo nice.

St. John's (Newfoundland)

If you are into hiking, it was fabulous. There is a trail out of Quidi Vidi (from the port, follow the trail by the lake which is pretty and well paved) that goes up the side of the mountain past North Head Trail Lookout and over to Signal Hill. From there, follow the North Head trail down - but be aware that there were portions that were tricky - down along the coast. The views are spectacular.

If you don't want to hike all of that, there is a metro bus called Link which costs $10 for several tourist stops (it's not like a hop-on/hop-off bus but it will get you there). But definitely go to the top of Signal Hill.

I also liked the Geo museum. It's not large but it's very educational for young and old and explains things well in everyday language.
