This was our first Cunard cruise, having been on more than 10 cruises with Celebrity and Princess. The Cunard cache lured us into trying them. We were impressed by the Princes grill, we liked the restaurant and private decks available to us.Service in these areas was very good. There was no need to reserve sunbeds which was great.
We noticed that the overall condition of the Queen Elizabeth was a little worn, common areas were showing their age.
Entertainment was way below our expectations and didn't really compare with the 'Cirque du Soleil" style offerings put on by Celebrity. In fact, this was the first cruise we have been on that actually repeated shows throughout the week.
The Cabin was a P1 suite, similar in size to a Princess lines junior suite. Perfectly adequate. The shower was small for anyone over 6 feet tall.
However, the cabin didn't look like it had had a 'deep' clean (this term used by Cunard) for some time,
Moldy and cracked tiles in the shower. ( subsequently cleaned on request)
In addition, bloody towels were supplied to us, folded, which were unwittingly used after showering. Cunard kept towels, even though we asked for them and were promised, in writing, a full report 10 days after we docked. Nothing received, in fact we have been blocked from their call center so cannot even call now. We feel that Cunard are remiss in not responding to a perfectly innocuous request following a possible health and safety issue.
