My husband and I were looking for a smaller ship ( Sojourn holds 450 passengers) and a trip to Alaska. The ship is almost 10 years old and could use a little attention/updating in the way of carpeting, painting. Just a bit... That being said, the trip was quite enjoyable. We began in Seward, AK with effortless embarkation. Into the Gulf of Alaska ( seas a bit rough) and on to Harriman Fjord and Icy Strait Point. Juneau was the first major port, then Tracy Arm, Haines, Sitka, Wrangell, Rudyerd Bay, Ketchikan, Prince Rupert, BC, interior straits substituted for Klemtu, Alert Bay, BC and finally Vancouver to disembark. Disembarkation went smoothly. We arranged through Seabourn to stay two extra nights in Vancouver. Everything went off without a hitch. The Fairmont Pacific Rim is lovely.
Pros: 1) service was OUTSTANDING on the ship. Our attendant, Kudzai, couldn’t have been more enthusiastic and helpful. Servers were on the ball.
2) excursions were plentiful. There were naturalists on board to give talks prior to port calls. Numerous Zodiac boats and kayaks were available for excursion use. There were many excursions to choose from, most included wildlife sightings though not guaranteed. We were lucky and saw whales, sea otters, black bears and sea lions each time we ventured out.
Cabin Review
Veranda Suite
This cabin was on deck 6 ( middle of the ship- portside). The cabin was clean, a bit outdated but with ample room for two. The small walk-in closet with small sage was adequate. Refrigerator was stocked daily with requested beer, wine, liquor, soft drinks and water. Fresh fruit was delivered daily. The couch was comfortable. There were two chairs and a small table as well. The balcony had two lounge chairs with a decent sized round table. The bathroom had a deep tub, tiled shower and two sinks. The bathroom was roomy! The bed was very comfortable. It was listed as a queen, but felt more like a king.

To be fair it was a Sunday. Not much open. Did have a market right off the ship. Picked up a few essentials.
Prince Rupert
Found it to be rather dirty and tired. Walked around a bit. Sunken Gardens by the courthouse were pretty.
