Recently completed a 14 day cruise to Ireland, Iceland and Northern Ireland from London. It looks like to save money Celebrity decided to remove most of the amenities. No fruit, slippers, shower cap, flowers or even a note pad and pencil. They also no longer print newspapers. The couch seat felt like they removed the padding while the bed was extremely soft with little real support.. The meals in the main dining room ranged from mediocre to excellent. However one dinner took 2 1/2 hours and hadn't even gotten to dessert and coffee. We missed the show. On the other hand the buffet meals were very good to excellent. Speaking of shows, most of the entertainment was very good but the British comics were hard to understand.

Management of the ship was poor to say the least. The destination talks were more tour sales pitches than anything. One of the guest main formal presentations was scheduled for a small side auditorium and so many people missed it that they had to reschedule it. Another occasion they changed our departure schedule for the next port but didn't notify anyone until we were steaming that night making it impossible to cancel a tour in time to get a refund. Yet another time we arrived later than scheduled and than proceeded to have only 2 gangways available (2880 passengers) for departing the ship. It took us over 1 1/2 hours to disembark and thereby missed another tour. Submitted a formal written claim for reimbursement for the missed tours and never even got a response. Now all the Captain's Club activities were all of 45 minutes in duration. Why bother getting dressed to go to any one of them.

Our cabin steward was excellent and very accommodating. Almost all of the dining room and bar waiters, etc. were very good to excellent except for one sommelier who avoided us like the plague because we didn't purchase the higher priced wines.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Typical veranda room but the soft bed and beaten down padding in the couch made it uncomfortable at times.

Port Reviews

Waterford

Excellent tour of the Waterford Crystal factory.
