Sail Date: Sep 2019

This was a cruise to celebrate my sister's birthday. I've been on Carnival 7 day cruises before and had no complaints, but as soon as we entered our balcony stateroom, it was disappointing. The glass on the aft-balcony was dirty and stained brown to the point where you could not sit on the balcony and have any view looking through the glass portion. The balcony chairs and chaise lounge were also dirty.

The carpet in the cabin....dirty as evidence from the bottoms of my slippers, so yes, bring slippers and wear them.

Not long after sailing, there was a terrible gurgling noise coming from the bathroom. Water (including fecal matter) coming from drain behind the toilet and up from the shower drain. Called cabin steward, who contacted plumber. Came back to the room, and same thing!! Plus, bath mat was still soaking wet and dirty. Called cabin steward, who didn't seem to happy about it. Now, this was after his first appearance where he was laughing and when asked what was so funny, he just said oh the smell is terrible! Went to customer service to make sure this was taken care of and she said the plumber would meet us in the room. Met with plumber, who said the drains were functioning properly and hopefully wouldn't have a problem any longer (we did not, thankfully). Plumber had to call our cabin steward, at our request, to clean the floor of the bathroom and shower. He didn't seem too happy about it, but did it. I mean, there was p-o-o-p on the floor, why wouldn't you clean that? Needless to say, we wore our flip flops in the shower. Yes, bring a cheap pair of flip flops just in case!

Cabin Review

Cabin aft view

Beware cabin 6489....Victoria Lounge is directly below and you will hear noise. Comedian show was in there and you could hear music, crowd noise, etc until the last show which was at 11:30pm. Not complaining about that, but just be forewarned if that would bothersome.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Did not take a ship sponsored excursion, booked independently and chose a food tour. Made our way through all the shops, stopped at a few shops along Bay St. Did enter Straw Market looking for Conch jewelry. Don't be afraid to tell them what exactly you are looking for. Was pointed in the direction of a wonderful lady selling the jewelry made by her father. It was exactly what we were looking for, but it took a bit of looking and asking.
