Six of us chose this cruise based on travel agent recommendation and the final day/night would be in Bernkastel during the wine festival. So a bit disappointed that we moored 40 miles away instead. Bus was arranged for us so not total disaster and well managed by Emerald.

We have done a few river cruises and this was the best. Accommodation was very good and clever balcony / window in cabin gave a lot of space. Food was same standard as other river cruises inc Viking and Riviera although they did seem to avoid strong flavours. Included wine with dinner was very good and enough of it! Dining room a bit noisy.

The swimming pool was a surprise hit! I expected a large bath, but it was vastly better and more useful than that, especially with the roof open and sun shining in the 30deg heat. Bicycles were very handy too. Read more
