For my first Viking and river cruise, Waterway of the Czars was an awesome choice. Excursions were very informative, with great tour guides at every destination. I only chose one optional excursion to the Peterhof Palace & Park, and it was one of the best by far. It was great to have some free time in most destinations to roam around and explore. Dining was a pleasure at every meal. I tried and thoroughly enjoyed most of the Russian selections available at each meal. Daily selections were varied and the food was excellent. All of the cruise staff (cabin, entertainment, bar, enrichment, kitchen, dining room, etc.) were extremely welcoming, helpful and available whenever needed. The ship docked and departed from each destination very timely and efficiently. The boarding process was very easy and quick. The entire Russian experience was so much more than I ever expected and each of the stops between Moscow and St. Petersburg was quite unique so much more interesting than I expected. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations. Soon after returning I booked my second Viking River Cruise to Paris and Normandy for May of 2020. Can’t wait to set sail!
