Cabin: Junior Suite

We have previously traveled with Aussie friends we met years ago on a Voyageur of the Seas cruise in NZ, so when they said they'd booked this cruise, we jumped at the chance to join them.

We had never been on Adventure of the Seas but like the size of Voyageur and Radiance, so thought it would be a good fit.

First, the cabin. We usually book Junior Suites, with an occasional splurge on a Grand Suite. We were in 1350 on the 10th deck. This was a junior suite but we could not believe the size and layout! It had a walk in closet and a full bathtub, more like a Grand Suite on other ships. There were so many shelves and drawers that many were empty, even though we were in the middle of a 3 week trip and had a lot of stuff.

Junior Suite

Cabin J3

As I said in the main part of the review, this cabin was a great surprise. The layout and space were closer to what we've had in Grand Suites.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

We didn't linger in Bayonne but did stay in Manhattan and saw the semis of the US Open Women's!

Portland (Maine)

If you are physically able, this is a great port to walk around, as the many historic buildings are well marked with plaques.

Saint John (New Brunswick)

We took a cab to see the reversing falls and then walked back down the hill and around the harbour walkway. There are lots of signs explaining the port's history and early native settlement. EXCELLENT galleries if you walk up the street into the city.

Halifax

This was our only slightly rainy day. We did the Immigration Museum, which was excellent. Our Australian friends spent time in the museum's research centre, and praised the assistance of the staff in finding information on family who arrived in Canada in the early 1900s. There is an excellent pizza restaurant on the other side of the street across from the Immigration Museum.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

We walked around and many of the historic buildings were open for tourists and had good guides.

Quebec City

This is one of North America's most interesting cities and very walkable, We walked the ramparts and then explored the narrow streets. The funicular had long lines and I am proud to say I walked the steps into the upper city!
