Wanted to visit Provence and this was the perfect way to do it. Staying right the heart of cities like Lyon and Avignon allows scope for independent sight seeing. As a past customer I had high expectations of the service and food and I was not disappointed. Such a varied itinerary with cities and rural communities. Some of the Roman remains were fascinating, especially the Pont du Gard Aquaduct. Our optional excursion to the Camargue was very interesting and I enjoyed getting so close to the flamingos. The facilities on board are excellent and the service always feels personalised. The attention to detail, such as handing out warm hand towels to refresh you on return to the boat from an excursion are much appreciated. The pick up and return to the airport were well handled. The extension in Nice added a final flourish and the Viking representatives at the hotel were very helpful in recommending places to eat and where to visit.
