The itinerary interested us. Malta,Naples,Rome,Corsica,Sardinia,Athens, Crete and Rhodes.

Embarkation and disembarkation were very smooth and professional. The Oceana is a medium sized very friendly ship. This is our 3rd time on this ship. Dining staff excellent and cannot fault. Lots of menu variety and beautifully presented.Food very good. The restaurant manager went out of his way to ensure we were happy with our seating arrangements. . Entertainment variety is great and Headliners in particular are very professional and high standard. Elias Hendricks sang Classical Soul and was excellent. Cabin steward attentive and kept our cabin spotless.. The excursions we chose were led by very knowledgable agents, we did five organized by the cruise line, the rest of the destinations we did our own thing. We were in Crete twice and Malta on first day, middle of the cruise and the last day. A very good talk by a marine conservationist Alexander Sanchez Jones.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom with Shower

Cabin JB

Comfortable bed. Plenty enough storage for 2 people for a fortnight cruise. Bathrooom is small but adequate. Balcony adequate for 2 reclining chairs and small table though would have liked a footstool (we used the table).

Port Reviews

Malta (Valletta)

We picked up a leaflet detailing two walks,an historic and scenic which were easy to follow and enjoyable.

Naples

Excellent value for money, 3 course lunch included. Saw Sorrento,Salerno and boat along the Amalfi coast with stop to explore Amalfi.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Excellent knowledgable guide who gave us a fantastic in depth tour of the Colosseum without having to queue for too long as we were in a group. Roman Forum tour very comprehensive and then walking to Piazza Navonna and had 2 hours free time.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Coach into the mountains where we boarded a small train to view breathtaking scenery,a knowledgable guide, lots of scented wild herbs growing in the mountains.Visited a bee farm where they have 700 hives and very interesting talk and tasting of different honeys the bees produce according to the time of year.

Olbia

We took a HOHO bus which took us along the scenic coast to the Golfo Aranci in the north. On the way back it stopped at Pittulongu beach where we spent two to three hours on soft white sand and hired sun loungers and an umbrella for 15euros. Beautiful beach and sea.

Athens (Piraeus)

We picked a HOHO bus but it did a scenic coastal route so took an hour to get to Athens when we would have preferred to go straight there as it's 15mins from Pireous. The commmentary was out of sync with what we were seeing and once we got to the Acropollis and Plaka and did our sightseeing it wasn't easy finding the HOHO bus stop to take us back to the ship. However, the Acropollis itself was worth the trip. We had booked a shore excursion to take us direct to Athens but we weren't told of a change in time of the coach leaving so missed the coach but P&O gave us a refund.

Rhodes

Rhodes Old Town is easy to do on your own with a map as it's close to where the cruise ships dock. Pretty harbour from the balcony unlike some ports.
