We had been wanting to go on a river cruise. This was our first one and we chose this itinerary because the timing fit with other plans made. We enjoyed the small passenger feel. The staff worked hard to see that you were comfortable and had everything you needed. Some of the special things we enjoyed was the “Meet your Neighbors” event, where all your cabin neighbors met in the hall, drank champagne and had chocolates, and visited. Often we were greeted at the door after an excursion by staff with something to drink or warm washcloths. It was a very nice touch. We also enjoyed the Liars Club, which was hilarious! The cooking class was not at all what was expected. It was more of a comedy show and everyone had a great time. The Russian history lessons were very interesting and we were so impressed with the knowledge of our three guides. Our excursions were all well planned, informative and enjoyable. We would definitely travel with Viking again.
