We are a retired couple from the UK. Seasoned travellers and been on over 50 cruises with all the major players. Never been to any of these places so we were attracted to this cruise. Big mistake.
The ship is old, tired and needs to be out to sleep. Rust everywhere and painting over it doesn't help. The smell on our deck was revolting. We didn't need to ask what it was - that was obvious. What I found odd was the fact that they couldn't fix it. Thousands of pounds spent to have 19 days putting up with something smelling like the inside of a public lavatory or sewage plant. Simply not good enough !
As for the rest of the ship, our room was kept clean and tidy. Plus marks as usual to the stateroom staff. They deserve every penny they get
Entertainment was average. Each headliner performed at least twice, some even more. The comedian was dire.it's not funny to make fun of where audience members come from and that constituted his whole act.
They did host a few trivia sessions, no themes at all, Only general trivia with some wacky way out questions. It's no fun if the questions are too surreal . nd there are too many times when the answers they have were wrong. That's just embarassing
Only one port had a tender and they managed to muck up the tender ticket allocation process. They gave out numbered tickets on a first come first served basis. Only they realised that they were giving out the wrong tickets and started to give out new ones after about an hour. Meant that those who queued early ( me included ) had invalid tickets, had to queue again and as such got delayed getting off . A total farce
Food was disappointing. I've been on a few Princess ships and the difference in quality here was very noticeable. Small portions delivered cold in the MDR. Food also cold in the buffet. And what happened to the complimentary soft serve ice cream usually available on the pool deck ? Replaced with chargeable ice cream at $5 a scoop. That's just mean. I feel sorry for families with kids
Ports were as expected. I'm still critical of cruise lines on!y giving out port information which gets them money
I've written to Princess about the smell. Hopefully they will reply but I'm not holding my breath - unlike in board where I had to
Plenty of space. Kept clean too. Shower was a joke, just a dribble coming out and not very hot
Really only worth seeing the is lands just off the port. If you have seen the Names Bond is lands in Thsikand, this is similar. There is a street market. Very stressful experience. Be prepared for a lot of hassle from vendors
Very good beach. However watch your stuff. Plenty of thieves on motorbikes watching you. A few fellow passengers got robbed. One guy grabs your bag, then passes it to his mate on a bike who scouts away. Also, vendors in the street market are very annoying. Lots of pushing and shoving. Not pleasant
Excursion was a rip off $110 for basically a one hour bus trip to Saigon and back. Better to go on your own if you canView All undefined undefined Reviews
Nice wee town. 15 minute walk from the port but do n't expect the cruise line to tell you t h at
Nice clean walkable city centre. You get there by taking the citycat ferry few minutes walk from the cruise terminal. Funny the cruise line doesn't mention that . Or you can take the cruise lines ferry excursion at about ten times the cost of the citycat. Your choice
