We picked this cruise for the itinerary to Canada. We got to the Manhattan pier at noon and did not get on the ship until 3:30 PM! What a mess trying to board! The port of New York was totally unable to handle as many people as there were trying to board the ship. There was no explanation as to what was going on and why we were so late boarding. Because of the delay of boarding we left the pier about three hours late.
We left New York and went out into a storm in the Atlantic. That of course was not the fault of MSC. But between leaving late and the storm we ended up missing our first port of call which was Sydney Nova Scotia. MSC did give a $300 refund to each cabin.
This ship was absolutely beautiful! The crystal stairways were stunning and the cabins were roomy and nicely decorated. The crew tried very hard to keep the spirits up and to keep the passengers happy. Needless to say there were a lot of unhappy passengers. The food was adequate , Not the best and not the worst.
Cabin Review
The cabins were very clean and very roomy. The balconies were adequate with two chairs and a small table. The TV service on this cruise was horrible! Half the time the satellite did not work but they did give us a selection of about eight movies that we could watch for free.
