Chose this cruise for the itererary and timing - peak fall colors in Canada and New England. Food was average, service was slow, dining room service was very slow. Ports of call and disembarkation was smooth except for the last one - New York City. Got in late, very disorganized exit and the transportation to the airport was a mess. No one knew which bus went to Newark, which one went to Kennedy and which one went to LaGuardia.

Entertainment on the ship was very good. The cabin was small and the layout hard to maneuver. Shore excursions were average, seemed priced about average.

One thing missing on the ship was any link to the ports we were going to see - only one presentation on any of the ports and this was well after the midpoint of the cruise. Information about the ports we had visited and then some about the ones coming up. Other cruises have a presentation for each port the day before arrival with tips about local foods, drinks, attractions, warnings(about pickpockets) and something interesting about the port that only someone that had been there would have.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Oceanview Picture Window

Small, bed layout made getting in and out difficult. Flip down bunk on one side was hard to avoid getting in and out. The dresser on the other side left little room to get in bed on that side. The TV was very small and far enough away that you couldn't read anything on the screen. Drawers on one side worked great, the other side didn't have any stops so when the ship rocked, the drawers slide out and then back in. Makes it hard to sleep. The gangway on the 6th floor was above us and something there also was banging around when the ship rocked.

Port Reviews

Quebec City

Got in the day before to ensure we made the ship. Walked around the old town and enjoyed the experience. Went touring again after checking into the ship.

Corner Brook

Not much to see here. Train with snowplow, local swimming area, heritage tree.
