My wife and I have spent more than 300 days at sea on a variety of lines. This was our 6th Celebrity cruise and probably our best one. We sailed on the Eclipse earlier in the year, while nothing was wrong with that cruise it was a little underwhelming. We chose this cruise as we were travelling in the region and it seemed a fun way to return to Australia rather than flying.

Embarkation was generally smooth although our check in agent was clearly inexperienced and flustered and things were progressing very slowly until a manger noticed and intervened. Everyone at the port was very friendly.

Unfortunately the weather turned but we still decided to hit the pool, as it was raining no one joined us and we got the pool and most of the deck to ourselves.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

I think that was our cabin number it was level 6 aft on starboard side which was good as it is non smoking side of the ship. Little bit of a walk to the stairs but nice and low and near the entertainment decks. Some noise from neighbours intervened. Cabin was very spacious.

Port Reviews

Maui

Very cute town. We walked an hour along the coast and saw loads of turtles and found some nice beaches

Honolulu

Lovely beaches

Tahiti (Papeete)

The town was ok, others talked us out of taking ferry to Moorea (we should not have listened). We walked out of town and found some nice black sand beaches with clean water

Bora Bora

Anything you don in this paradise will be amazing. We took the local bus to the beach and then walked back. Pure paradise

Auckland

Walked around various inner city neighbourhoods and some lovely gardens. Shame on NZ for charging foreigners huge amounts more than locals, this is a 3rd world practice. Australia should start charging massively for kiwis who want to stay in Oz.
