We went with a large group (100+) organized by a very reputable agency. The agency owner & key organizer traveled with us & did their best to address issues, but...
The room was consistently over 75 Fahrenheit - even after two visits from engineering staff. Front desk said it wasn't possible to send a fan... In a truly bizarre twist, the cold water was over 100 Fahrenheit - I've never before had a hot cold shower.
Before booking, specified that we would need multiple electrical outlets at bedside (both use CPAP + other med device) - no problem. When we arrived, there was a 1-outlet extension cord & no outlets near bed. It took 2 calls & 3 increasingly heated visits to customer service before finally getting a 3-outlet strip to use with the cord.
Glad we got the larger room. There is plenty of storage. Fit & finish acceptable.
There are no electrical outlets in the bedroom area
The port area is very nice & it's a short ride into town.
There are taxi hucksters everywhere - bargain hard, it's not that far.
1 step out of customs & you are barraged by a 150 yard gauntlet of rude men trying to sell taxi services. There is probably something worth-while to see on the island, but the port area is not among these. The Vendor Mart has some interesting things, but nearly all of the booths are exactly the same & there is a constant din of people trying to sell T-shirts & magnets.
Basically, the whole experience was like being attacked by a swarm of roaches. Even the port area does not feel safe.
Didn't have much energy, so just shopped around port.
