I was on the Grand Princess 2 years ago with friends and family and everybody was surprised how good the food was. This time however the menu and quality have deteriorated so much that it is the worst out of over 30 cruises I've been on. Hamburger instead of steak is now on the everyday dining room dinner menu. Menu lacks variety such as pork belly multiple times and salmon on both sides of the menu. Horizon Court is even worst with the same pasta, rice, vegetables everyday. Roast chicken was served many times at lunch.
Sea day daytime activities are boring with a lot of seminars trying to sell you stuff. Good selection of movies including current ones. Singers and dancers and production shows are excellent.
The best thing that save this cruise was the professional and friendly crew. The outstanding service of the staff at Horizon Court is the best I've seen on a cruise ship. They are quick to offer beverage as soon as you sit down. They are particularly good with helping the elderly passengers with their plates and leading them to the tables, Our dining room waiter and assistant waiter were very attentive, professional and caring.
Small but clean and bed is comfortable.
On embarkation day the water coming out of the tap at the bathroom sink was light brown at first, then quickly turned dark brown and then black for a while. Thank goodness, it didn't happen again the rest of the cruise.
The shower water temperature was fine for the first few days but suddenly one day the water turned cold during shower and I could not turn the temperature up. They fixed the temperature nob and the water was hotter but for the rest of the cruise the shower temperature continued to fluctuate.
