My husband and I had the opportunity to go away without the children and found this cruise with 8 days notice. I had always wanted to go to the Fjords so finding this cruise was perfect.

We had a balcony cabin which was very nice.

I was a little worried about going on this ship having spoken to someone a few days before and they said they weren’t that impressed. Having been with Princess cruises 3 months earlier, we wondered if we had made the right decision. We needn’t have worried at all!

Cabin Review

The cabin was lovely. Nicely decorated and a nice size for the two of us. We did think that the balcony was small compared to our previous cruise on the sapphire princess but it wasn’t a problem.

Port Reviews

Stavanger

We took a private excursion . A 3 hour cruise around the Fjords to pulpit rock (the weather was awful and the rock was covered in cloud!)

Nice trip nonetheless

Olden

A stunning port of call. Beautiful scenery.

Due to the weather we decided to walk up to the glacier as the cable car was covered in cloud.

We booked this in the office next door to where the ship had docked. We shared a private taxi with 4 others and taken to the start of the walk and told what time he would be back to collect us.

The walk took around 1 hour or so (I stopped to take lots of pictures) and about 45 minutes to come back down. You didn’t need to be that fit to walk it as it wasn’t steep all the way up in fact some of it was flat for a bit. You can however take a troll car up/down most of the way.

The glacier was stunning! Lots of waterfalls on the way up too.

Alesund

Beautiful town. We decided to walk up the steps to the top which overlooks the town and the view was incredible. There was a cafe at the top but you had to pay to get in so we didn’t bother.

After we went down we went to see “the house that didn’t burn”

We assumed we would just take a photo and then leave but it’s actually been turned into a museum which is free.

We had a free tour round and listened to the interesting stories. There is a lovely cafe inside so we stayed for a coffee and cake.

We had dry weather this day so we had a walk around the harbour area

Bergen

Loved Bergen.

We walked to the railway and went up to the top to have a walk around and take in the view over the city. Nice place to walk around.
