Selected this cruise because I live less than 2 hours from Norfolk port. But it was not a good boarding experience. It rained, people got wet, parking situation awful!! Later found out that luggage handlers were on strike so not enough staff to get people through boarding process in timely manner. People stood in line, in rain for hours!! Not enough service staff on Lido Deck. In all my days I have never had to stand in line 30-60 minutes for a hamburger or hotdogs!! Only place that was timely was Pizza line. Buffet line wait time was ridiculous and the buffet food was AWFUL!! Hotdogs and Hamburgers were always on the fast food deck line together in the past, now hotdogs with Deli, causing hour wait for a HOTDOG!! All event rooms were too small for audience size, had to stand up for comedy show, Bingo, Disco, Karaoke. Should have had more duplication of shows to spread audiences out more. All shows were overcrowded!! And shows weren't that Good. No good deck music during day when lying out. Long wait time for servers to bring drinks. Not much to do during day. Dining room food was delivered extremely SLOW!! Could tell waiters were over worked and overwhelmed with people. Just not enough staff on this ship. I think the 'few staffers' tried hard, but it was no way they could do valuable service to the large # of clients on board. We would order in the dining room and wait 30 minutes for 1st course to be served. Tables on Lido were always cluttered with dirty dishes, not enough staff to clean up, so clients were constantly looking for clean tables. First time cruisers may have thought this was an ok cruise because they had nothing to compare to. As a frequent cruiser, over the past 20+ years, my rating would be VERY POOR!! The ONLY plus for me was the personal driving distance to port, wjich was less than 2 hours. Parking situation was awful though!!
