Having never been in Europe before or on a river cruise, my wife and I were interested in experiencing a river cruise to see if we would like others in the future. From the Viking folks that met us at the airport and accompanied us to our buses to them taking us back there at the end of the journey, it was a marvelous experience. The ship was beautiful and a perfect size - our cabin was well appointed and always sparkling clean. Every staff member from the cleaning crew to the captain were so hospitable and glad to be our escorts. The service was magnificent and we had so much fun with wait staff, bartenders, entertainers and especially our cruise director - all of them so geographically diverse and engaging!

Unfortunately for my waistline the food and snacks were remarkable at every meal. We tried to sit at different tables every meal and met so many wonderful people in doing so.

The shore excursions and tours were first class from the beginning to the end and we always felt we had been treated like royalty - from the wonderful motor coaches to the hearing devices that made listening to tour guides so easy, especially in large crowds.
