We chose Avalon for our first river cruise because of the itinerary, the amenities offered during the cruise and the cabin layout.
The ship was spacious and our cabin was very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the french balcony that allowed us to breath the fresh air and see the river sites clearly.
We particularly enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffets and afternoon tea was a treat. Our wait staff were wonderful! We laughed so much during our meals!
We were so happy to find two other like-minded couples to share our experience, so our expectation of getting to know people from other countries was definitely met!
We also appreciated our cruise director who was wonderful at guiding us and responsive during stressful times.
Evening entertainment was mixed, some of the evenings were more enjoyable than others, which is to be expected.
The ports and shore excursions met our expectations of learning a bit more about the different countries and their regions.
All in all, an enjoyable experience that we will recommend to others and repeat!
Enjoyed seeing the different areas of Budapest and sampling the food and wines.View All 17 Culinary Tour Reviews
Did not have enough time; the palace was extensive and very interesting to hear about it from our guide. The grounds were lovely and would have liked to have more time to explore.View All 179 Schonbrunn Palace Reviews

I believe I took a break from touring this day
We enjoyed wandering Regensburg, felt this was a nice representation of the region.
Generally a very nice area to visit.
Had a wonderful time at the Music Museum. The 'automated' music boxes were impressive, from small to very large!
Additionally, we were treated to the Rudesheim Brandy drink! It was just the right treat for a fall day. Loved it so much we purchased two ceramic cups/saucers and brought home some of the local brandy. Had a great time wandering the town, enjoyed a free lunch at a local restaurant and shopping!View All undefined undefined Reviews
We had some time at the Cologne Cathedral on the way to the Jewish history museum tour. My husband especially enjoyed the Jewish history tour, and I agree that it was very impactful to see and hear what happened during WWII. Afterwards we had some free time with our friends so we went back to the Cathedral and then had coffee and pastries. Delicious!View All 184 Cologne Cathedral Reviews
This was a good way to orient ourselves to how to wander throughout AmsterdamView All 311 Canal Tour Reviews
We booked a private tour and we both enjoyed it very much. My husband is not much of an art museum fan, he was surprised at how much he enjoyed the Rijksmuseum. I was very happy!View All 77 Rijksmuseum Reviews
We enjoyed this tour, although it rained throughout the tour and that was very uncomfortable. The cheese factory was lovely, very disappointing that we cannot take the unpasteurized cheese home. While it was nice to see and tour the windmills, the general area seemed like a bit of a tourist trap.View All 61 Zaanse Schans Windmills Reviews
