This was our third trip on Island Windjammers, second out of Grenada and first on Vela. We already loved the islands and Windjammer style. Vela was new to us. We were in love with Sagitta, but Vela was as similar as different. Gotta get it out of the way, cabins are smaller, but still comfortable and provide everything you need. Pack light, you don't need much. The ship is beautiful. It is amazing to hear the engine shut off and be under sail.

Once again we had an amazing crew, delicious meals, and days on beaches you can't see on a big ship. The best part of this trip is the people. From booking, to meeting the crew, to meeting the other passengers, the people set this trip apart. Within a day you are on a first name basis with everyone. We come home with new friendships and memories. The second trip to the Grenadines was even better because we were able to enjoy things we missed the first time and truly to relax. Meals are important and once again they exceeded all expectations with a mix of island and American favorites. Days are a mix of activity and relaxation with multiple options. Evenings are time spent watching stars, fish, and talking to shipmates when there is no party on shore or deck. We were usually very ready for bed after dinner. Fleet week meant sharing activities with Diamante and those activities were excellent. Coming home is always difficult. I can't wait to go again.
