We chose this ship for its itinerary on the Seine. We were truly looking forward to Vernon and Monet's Garden, which was spectacular, but we fell in love with every inch of France we saw!! Avalon knows how to treat passengers like royalty. From the captain to the chamber maids this crew was exceptionally talented at their job and very eager to assist passengers in any way possible. The cruise director works for a different company, and while she was pleasant enough I felt she had no empathy, and lacked a bit in the customer service area. Unfortunately I became ill on an excursion, and was essentially abandoned. When we did get back to the ship we had to seek her out. It was hours later, and she didn't call, come by the cabin, or leave a note.

This ship is clean and beautiful. Every single morsel of food was delicious! Everything was absolutely first class. We stayed in a smaller cabin on Indigo deck, and it was roomier than we'd find on an ocean cruise, and nicely appointed. The bed was roomy and very comfortable. We would most definitely recommend this cruise and would definitely sail with Avalon again.

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom with Window

Our cabin was approximately 172 sq. Ft., which we thought was absolutely just the right amount of space. There is enough storage. We had our beds together, and had plenty of room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom is small but has all of the essentials and some storage also. We had a mini bar which was well stocked and the items were average priced. Our chamber maid Natalyia was excellent, and saw to our every need. There is a turn down service at night as well.

Port Reviews

Paris

We fell in love with Paris. The cafes, the food, the history. Its all mesmerizing.

Paris

Truly a dream come true. Even in fall the garden is alive and colorful. I dreamed of going there for so long I actually had tears in my eyes on the Japanese footbridge.

Rouen

We loved Rouen. A great little city with new and old blended together beautifully. It is a terrific walking city. The cafes and shopping are wonderful.

Rouen

The history of this town is riveting and very relevant as well. Terrific eateries and great shopping too.
