We have cruised on Royal since 2011 and are the Diamond level, almost Diamond Plus. We have always enjoyed our RC cruises but I must say the Majesty was the worst we have been on. It was like they dumbed down the cruise, including service, food, friendliness of staff and especially the management. Terrible ship. Elevators that were not working, some only went down, some only up, some did go to all floors. The food services management is deplorable. I don't blame the servers although the service was not up to typical Royal standards. But just stupid kitchen management things like servicing prime rib that was razor thin instead of the normal 3/4" thickness that hold the juices, and we had to request steak knives for the rack of lamb. I guess they expected us to cut with butter knives.
No specialty restaurants like Chops or Giovanni's and no Diamond or Suites Club. No reserved seating for suites guests in the theatre. Really NO amenities for the those of us that paid the higher price for a suite. The suite concierge showed up one evening at the happy hour in the Viking Crown Lounge (the designate area for suites guests) and then we never saw him again. We gave us letter with instructions to be at the conference center at 8am on departure day to be escorted off of the ship as is typical for suites guests. We were there a few minutes before 8am and were told that he had already escorted everyone off of the ship. He was a horrible Loyalty representative.
Another indication of lousy management was that the muster drill took 30 minutes in the hot, bright sun. The crew acted so confused, like they had never done one before. The announcer kept making the same announcement 4 times. A real disaster.
Room was typical Grand Suite. Refrigerator did not work at all. It was more like a room temperature cabinet.
