Unfortunately, Viking changed our paid excursion to a time that conflicted with our included excursion and didn't notify us. We found out on our own and needed to visit guest services to correct Vikings error causing us to miss the "mix and mingle". This also affected our other plans for the day. Food was not as good as we expected. Staff and crew were exceptional and remembered our names and drinks after just one meeting. Also went out of their way to assist us at every opportunity .
Would like to see more entertainment and activities in the afternoon. Specialty dining was a bit disappointing, Vela saltimbocca in Manfredi's was dry. We were expecting lobster tails at Manfredi's but the sample menu changed at the last minute. Excursions were not always at the most convenient times. We were very pleased with the Viking River cruise we took in 2017 and expected a bit more than we experienced on the ocean cruise.
Closet was very close to the bed.
We were instructed to turn off airplane mode on our cell phones to log in to the Viking app. We were not advised to turn airplane mode back on and that the ships with would work with airplane mode turned on. We incurred international data roaming charges even though we had our global data roaming set to deny. We were able to get the charges reversed after several calls to our carrier. Remember to turn airplane mode back on immediately after logging in to the app.
