Cabin: Aft-facing Balcony Stateroom

Cruise number 10, our third transatlantic crossing, and also our third cruise on Norwegian. The Encore was beautiful! We had an aft facing balcony stateroom which was adequately spacious, very comfortable bed, decent storage and good size bathroom. The weather wasn’t the greatest so the outside activities open were minimal. However, the Observation Lounge on deck 15 more than made up for it! We spent a few hours there every day. It was beautifully appointed, plenty of comfortable sitting areas, lots of good snacks available throughout the day, bar service, and a 180 degree view. The main dining room and menus were very good. We also ate at Los Lobos Mexican restaurant which was excellent, and Q Texas barbecue restaurant which was also good. We never had to wait for a seat but the ship wasn’t full so it’s hard to judge what a full passenger load would feel like. The staff were very good throughout the ship. We would make the trip again.

Aft-facing Balcony Stateroom

Very nice. Adequate space for 2 to relax, unpack, etc.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

While it’s somewhat convenient to arrive in Manhattan, the crazy NYC traffic made us glad we hadn’t booked a tight airline connection. We took the NCL airport transfer bus to LaGuardia. It took about 90 minutes to make the 15 mile trip!

Southampton

We did a day long self guided tour. Very interesting port area, significant historical value. Right near the ship, too. The wall, Bar Gate, Red Lion In, etc. Great meal at the Ottoman Empire. The area is worth an extra day.
