My husband and I had a good time on the cruise. We went to 4 theater shows, all very good. The performers were all quite professional. We also went dancing, learnt a bit of waltz and rumba, it was fun. The only problem was the dance classes did not follow the printed schedule, so we had to wait for over 30 minutes for one of the classes. We ate at the main dining room, food was ok. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Our room was roomy and clean. Nice view from the balcony.

We had 2 excursions from the cruise. On the first excursion, we were put on the Spanish/French bus by mistake - if you join excursions from the cruise, make sure you check the sign on the front of the bus which tells you what languages they will use. For the second excursion, it was difficult to hear the tour guide - a bus load of people following one guide. The guide did have a microphone with an amplifier, but it would be much better if we each have a headset.

Cabin Review

Fantastica Balcony Stateroom

The cabin is roomy, very clean. We would have preferred a room in the mid ship because my husband gets seasick easily, but he was fine throughout the trip (he did take medication continuously)

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We walk around on La Ramblas while waiting to embark. There were lots of people on the street.

Corsica (Ajaccio)

It was a small town. We walk around the town by ourselves.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

We went to Florence and Pisa with the ItalyTours company. I found & picked this company after reading many good reviews about it. The website we used was www.ItalyTours.EU.

When we were booking the excursion, ItalyTours sent us very detailed information on what was included, what was extra and how much. Everything was spelled out clearly so there was no guessing at all. We only had to pay a small deposit of e10 to hold our spots, and it was free cancellation until a day before our excursion. The company also guarantees to cover all costs of transportation to the next port if we have missed the cruise departure.

Our group only had 7 people, it was cozy and very nice (especially after the bus tour we had the day before) . The driver was very friendly, he spoke good English and he was quite funny. Our tour guide in Florence was very knowledgeable. It was enjoyable to listen to her stories, my husband and I learned a lot about Florence. After Florence, the driver took us to Pisa. It was a 1 hour stop, we took some pictures and walked around the area.

We got back to the cruise on time. There was no time that we had to worry about missing the cruise departure. The driver communicates 'timing' with us very clearly. We highly recommend this ItalyTours company.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

My husband and I took the hop on / hop off bus. I used google map to locate the ticket booth of the hop on / hop off bus at the City Centre. We then walked around the City Centre. It was nice and relaxing.

The shuttle bus from our cruise to the City Centre was e15 per person roundtrip. The ride was only 15 minutes one way - very expensive.
