I've been to Hawaii RT 6 times and this was the worst for activities and on any cruise ever taken as well and that numbers about 40. There was no Hawaiian enrichment speaker unlike last year. No guest speakers. NO COOKING CLASSES on way over. No singers\dancers until the return. Etc etc. Everyone was complaining and one lady canceled two future HAL cruises. Finally in Hawaii HAL got the word and things got better. Then on 2nd to last night the main stage dance group was postponed due to a "rocky" sea, but as this announcement was made, I could see 80 year olds walking around on walkers and canes. So the show was on the last night and HAL won't have to pay for the traditional Mexican folkloric dance group in Ensanada. AND frankly, I just took a HAL cruise panama canal one and it was much the same. Guest speakers cost only a room. Many activities such as trivia, ship talks etc don't cost anything. There seems to be a problem in a lackluster management. I just booked a three cabin family vacation on Princess rather than with HAL.
Food was fine. Service was great. Piano bar and Lincoln Center were great.
I don't plan on cruising with HAL again until I hear that these things are corrected.
We were to have a dance group on the 2nd to last night and the last night would be a folkloric Mexican show . But an announcement came on in the afternoon saying that because the seas were so rough, the ships dance group would perform on the last night. No folkloric show!. Well, when this announcement was made, the seas had some light white caps and there were octogenarians walking around with canes and walkers with no problem. Read between the lines, please.
